Palau Güell

Construit en 1888 par Antoni Gaudi le Palais Guell ou "Palau Güell" en Catalan, répondait à une commande des Güell, riches industriels qui furent on le sait ses mécènes tout au long de sa vie. A visiter pour l’intérieur autant que sa magnifique façade. Le Palais Guell n'est pas loin de la Rambla.

My husband and I honeymooned in Barcelona in Sept 2011 and we stumbled across this Gaudi masterpiece. It just recently opened this year and a MUST SEE. We enjoyed it more than any of the other Gaudi sites (except for La Sagrada Familia). It is 100% open!

My husband and I honeymooned in Barcelona in Sept 2011 and we stumbled across this Gaudi masterpiece. It just recently opened this year and a MUST SEE. We enjoyed it more than any of the other Gaudi sites (except for La Sagrada Familia). It is 100% open!

A couper le souffle. Une merveille. Le genie de Gaudi, dans toute sa spendeur, deja. Ce palais á lui seul vaut de se rendre á Barcelona. En un mot comme en 100 : FABULEUX.

le 7/9/2011 le palais guell n'est absolument pas fermé, j'y suis allée hier et c'était bien ouvert : le prix d'entrée est de 10 euros !

Hidden GEM... opened in May 2011; tourist hordes have not discovered this masterpiece.

ben er geweest in dec 2007,nog gesloten,denk niet dat het in 2008 al zal open zijn

iJust been to Barcelona - stayed at Gaudi Hotel right opposite, but sadly didn't know that the work is still not finished - no evidence of anything going on while I was there either! That was 3rd July 2007, so don't know when it's due to reopen.
Palau Guell is still closed to the public 24/ march 07

Restoration is still ongoing at the Palau Guell so it is covered in scaffolding and it is almost impossible to view the chimneys on top.

Je reviens de Barcelone. A ce jour, le palais Guell est toujours fermé pour travaux...

Your guidebook is right, Marianne. The house is closed due to maintenance work, and I fully agree with you: An internet site should be updated on this matter.

One of my guide book says it is closed until february 2007. I don't know if it is true, but you should mention it in that case, Thank you
